About
“I’m not too concerned with what I am going to do. I am more interested in who I am becoming. I want to be a lover of God and people.”
Words that excite me:
creativity; travel; justice; coffee; hope; photography

My name is Emma Boyd.
I am 20… I still have a lot to learn.
I love Jesus, and He loves me.
This is the most important thing for you to know about me.
It defines who I am.
I’m doing my best to figure out what it means to follow Jesus at this time, in this place.
I want to live simply, love extravagantly, and pursue Jesus with everything I’ve got.
I dream of taking photographs that will change the world.
I love music.
Especially jazz.
I also love books.
You can buy me one if you like.
Reading stimulates me.
One of my greatest passions is photography.
Check out my Flickr for some images.
Someone who inspires me once said,
“I have this belief that if I can train my camera on the things no one else pauses on and find a way to lure out the beauty, then what exists only between the shutter opening and closing, a redemption, can be witnessed by anyone. And, that’s the great thing about photography, you can crawl inside my head and see exactly what I saw exactly the way I saw it.Jesus said he came into the world to redeem it, not to condemn it. The world is broken and blemished - and far too many people want to make sure we see just how broken it is. I don’t want to be that guy. I want to train my heart and my eyes to get in sync with the beauty tucked away in the zacchaeus’ of the world. I want to prodigally pursue the beauty inside the ordinary things.”

That describes exactly what I love about photography. I love the feeling of capturing an idea, a dream, a vision in an image. Capturing beauty. I love that a picture speaks a thousand words. That an enduring image has the power to move you to laughter or tears.
I want to take those kinds of photographs.
Want to help? Buy a picture. Drop me an email or leave a comment or whatever… I’d love to sell you an image or two.
I am a self-confessed geek.
Any questions?
